Ohhhhhh how I love photographing newborns!
Pre-motherhood I used to think that all newborns slept all the time and only woke to be fed or changed and how wrong was!
I then went on to have my baby and he hardly slept at all! I can smile at the memory now.
My poor little baby had very bad colic so he had his reasons. He cried a lot and was awake A LOT.....and ummm so were we! But that's another story :)
When I first started photographing newborns I thought I'll either get babies that sleep soundly or just cry a lot like mine. Sounds silly now but I never thought I'd experience anything different and again, how wrong was I!
These tiny new miracles I meet already seem to have their own little way about them. They can't speak, they can barely lift their heads but when I load their images up after a shoot and see their little faces I see something quite unique in each baby.
Looking at their facial expressions and their beautiful eyes on the big screen I am quite overcome by how different each newborn is.
|This is Jude. He was 7 days old here. We tried to settle him to sleep but as you can see Jude was far too interested in what was going on. At one point (and only for about 1 second) he managed to get his head up to have a good look at what I was doing. Look at this face! When I first saw this image on my PC I had the biggest smile. Just a little bit nosey this one :)|
He heard his mother moving and barely able to move his little head he managed to shift his eyes around to see. Is he making you smile to?
|In daddy's hands, so tiny.|
Right at the end of the session, when he had finished looking around he eventually fell asleep. So we popped a Santa hat on him for added cuteness :)
Happy first Christmas Jude
